About This Project

The idea behind Lobster first came about in 2009 when a prominent Italian spinal surgeon, along with two colleagues, patented an intervertebral device that could be implanted using the percutaneous technique.

The main feature of this device was the unusual geometry determined by four openable jaws, thanks to which it was possible to obtain the perfect stability of the implant inserted between the vertebrae.
The device that they had in mind would therefore have offered mechanical resistance and primary stability, whilst being minimally invasive.

After undergoing an initial analysis, the proposed project was deemed problematic in terms of development, but what was immediately evident however was its ingenious potential as an implantable product.
We therefore accepted the task of re-evaluating and turning the Project, which was later named LobsterĀ® Project, into a reality.
